What happened to third spaces and club culture?

This question has been bouncing around in my head as I picture my dream dance hall. What would a show about GEN Z club culture even look like? I wanted to explore these ideas and questions through this passion project.

LOGLINE:
After the tragic death of a friend, a young woman quits her jobs and moves to Brooklyn's hidden Motion House. There, she find community in the combined house and club space.

Research findings:

What would the show look like?
What music would be played?
What would the club goers look like?
What would people experience and feel in this club?

Side Comments/Thoughts while Designing

Side Comments
Deciding what angle to take was difficult as there are so many different nooks of club culture.

Also figuring out what colors and visuals might interest GEN Z, whose club culture is still finding its footing post-covid, proved to be a challenge as well.

How much should I lean into 2000s club culture nostalgia and how much should I lean into creating a unique 2020s experience?

Thoughts While Designing
I feel like adding texture to this design would make sense for the grittiness of club culture

Does this give off high-end club or no?

What type of people would visit this club?

Do I want the visuals to be extra or simplisitc?

What stage would these visuals be used in the promotional process? Before, during, or after the 1st season drops?

Final Design Visuals

gritty yet chic, simplistic with neon color spikes

Clubs vary based on the cultural niche that they are catering to.

I wanted the visuals to be appeal to the artsy crowd that is trying to climb the art world social ladder.

The goal was to create an atmosphere and intrigue with the visuals. Playing with color, texture,  and formatting in order to capture the sleek, chic, and creative energy of the club’s attendees. The inspiring playwrights, models, writers, and filmmakers come here to experience and shape culture.

Very AREA.
